So at the show this weekend, I saw the Dunright bait tubes for putting around the front butt seat. Anyone make one of their own and want to post what has held up best?

I made one a couple years ago that is still going strong...I called a plastics co. in Madison (midland plastics i think) and asked if they had any large diameter clear plastic tubes to sell..they happened to have some precut tubes I think 8" across, 11" in length..they weren't cheap but they are thick and very very sturdy, I put 5 in a circular fashion, marked the spot where they met with a sharpie, roughed up the edge with sandpaper and epoxy'd them together...you could not pull them apart after drying if you tried..they took a dremel tool and put grooves in the top of the tubes for hooks to drop into so baits don't stack up in one area...try calling some plastics companies and see what kind of tubes they might have..sometimes they are in long sections that they might be able to cut down into whatever length you want....

I have to second the Captain Harry boxes. I have one of the carry boxes and two of the pedestal boxes. They are all lexan and stainless steel construction. NOT PLEXIGLASS like some of the cheaper knockoffs. You guys should really check out these boxes. You will not beat them for the price guaranteed! And Harry is a great guy!

Here is a pic of my Captain Harry pedestal box. It'll hold eighteen baits. It's all Lexan and stainless steel. They are very tough.

I made one form pvc also, you can glue as many pieces of pipe together you want, in whatever lenght and shape with the pvc glue. plus it is bomb proof. I don't use it anymore, as all my lure go AWAY in the box. I learned a painful lesson. LOOSE HOOKS+SMALL BOAT+DOG=BAD topraiders are hard to get out of dogs' legs! safety trumps convienience for me.

Ditto on the PVC. Cheap and easy to customize. Converted a compartment into bait storage with 3" PVC. Also have 3 4" PVC tubes glued together that I keep on the front deck for the favored lures of the day. Also have a duplicate one for guests in the back of the boat. Anything to cut down on clutter. It is amazing how fast you can shrink a 17' boat by having too much gear laying around.
