Location: Ames, Iowa | Behind the boat- 20 feet to 80 feet. Fast or slow. I just got a couple 3 oz baits that look like I'll only use them for trolling. I put on 5/0 trailer hooks. 1.5 to 2 oz spinnerbaits are great casters in cabbage and over rocks. I prefer single blades of many shapes for casting, double or single willowleaf blades for trolling. There are many spinnerbait trollers out there.

| I never tryed them on a planner board but they should work fine, I usually flat line troll them. M/G, beavertial, raddog, bionic bucktail, 3 oz. funky chickens and many many other spinnerbaits make for good trolling depending on speed, cover, etc. Weight is back to conditions, I use 1-3 oz. but beavertail (to name one) has made some huge trolling spinnerbaits in 8 oz. and larger models that would probably be an awsome fast troller. |

Location: Racine, Wi | I don't run them off boards, but I'm sure you could. The determining factor I use for how far back, is how high the weeds are, or how deep you want them running. The lower the weeds, the more line I put out. I like them to run just over the weeds, hitting them and popping loose occasionally. I don't have a lot of rock to fish down here trolling wise, so I can't help ya there, but just let out more line if you want it running deeper.
Another thing to try if running a weedline, is to run a spinnerbait over the weeds, and a Mepps Giant killer or a crank on the outside (if you only troll with 2 rods). Then go FAST. |

| I second the willeysbucktails, I bought five T-10's at the Chicago show. I'm putting #10 blades on the back for trolling open water this coming season. I also received a trolling spinnerbait from Brad at killingtimetackle.com that will put fish in my boat. |

Location: St. John, Indiana | are the t-10 and t-5's only offered in those tail patterns on the website? i like the bucktail on the c-1...... but the t-5 and 10 are some pretty ugly looking bucktails |

Location: WV | the uglier the bait, the bigger the fish
do not offer barred hackle on anything but C-1 and STF, jw
people need to remember that the design of any lure (bucktail, spinnerbait, jerk, crank) was designted to do a SPECIFIC job. altering can affect performance, and yes "sometimes" for a positive result,
that's the reason some bucktails come with indiana, colorado, or willow blades,,,,,,,,,,different performance, and
spinnerbaits might be one ounce, 5 ounce or ten ounces,,,,,,,,,,,different applications to different conditions or patterns, jw |

| Weedsnag, I'm sure you mean "ugly" in a affectionate way. I've been sleeping with my T-10 customs under my pillow at night. I can't wait to fish them. Most of my pretty baits don't even make my tackle baox any more. T-10's will be pretty productive. These are well thought out, very well made and will put big fish in the boat. When was muskie fishing a beauty contest anyway? Have a great year fishing with whatever you come up with. Duff Thury |

Location: Williamstown, WV | Jimmy Willison (willeysbucktails) makes a great product. I'd go with the T-5's but his T10's are one mean, big, and great built bait. You are NOT going to go wrong with any of his baits. Heck just order a couple and try em and see for yourself.

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | One thing you have to remember is that The bigger the blade(s), the heavier the head must be to troll/ retrieve fast. Too big of a blade with too light of a head= a spinnerbait that is going to corkscrew through the water at speed. |

Location: St. John, Indiana | wow! those MM spinnerbaits look nice...
jimmy- on the T-5 and T-10, why is the bucktail cut off straight? |

| Jimmy's (Willeys) spinnerbait skirts are crimped nylon (correct me if I'm wrong) not bucktail. The crimped nylon doesnt have tapered/staggered ends like a natural bucktail hair. That being said these are BY FAR the most bulletproof, trolling specific spinnerbaits I've used. And they put out a huge profile. Personally I use them in both fresh and saltwater, where the nylon and x-heavy wire help to withstand attatcks from big stripers and bluefish, and the extra weight lets me troll 'em without wire line. As far as looks, methinks they look just fine! |

Location: On my favorite lake! |

It all depends on how deep and how fast you want to troll. If you want higher over the tops of weeds a light 1 oz will do fine. If you want 3 ft or so usaually a 3 oz. 4 ft or deeper get heavy 5 oz to 10oz. Also, I like the Bigger arms for Trolling!

When I am casting a shoreline with the trolling motor I will sometimes drag a 1 1/2 oz spinnerbait. It is a nice way to fish a second rod. Just make sure you have a good rod holder and drag set a little looser than normal especially if you have rocks in the area.

|

Location: WV | As the Dispatcher stated, crimped nylon, for durability and volume for large profile in the water, and length............cannot get deer hair in 3.5 inches for T-5 or 5" for the T-10, so as i stated earlier, specific designs for specific applications.................jw |
