| I could repaint it, but I'd have to strip it down to bare wood first.
Send me a PM.

| I'd be VERY CAREFUL messing around with a Hughes River with "it"
The more you kill them, the more they eat them.

| its not really in the paint guys, more so the the piece of wood, granted, adding clearcoat in excess of what the original weight of the bait was will mess it up, but, if you try to replicate what it originally was, it should be fine.
My buddy is on his 3rd repaint from me, his TR twitcher gets so torn up its unbelievable, and I keep repainting it, doesn't seem to matter to the fish, it still gets whacked. a lot!

Location: Oregon | I will add that most lures I have tested from a large range of woods from maple to western red cedar (which is what HR baits are made from) will swim better before clear-coating. The clear coat protects the paint but oftens reduces the quality of the lure action.

Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | As was mentioned, there are MANY talented painters to choose from. It pretty much depends on what kind of look you are going for. I for example am known for doing very realistic baitfish finishes while guys like Beaver and Jed from bikiniBaits are awesome at more classic looking styles. Then there are guys like Tigger, Fatfingers, etc each with their own unique styles.
Maybe we should organize a little thread listing each bait maker/painter . We can show an example of their work and have some contact information available. That way it's easier on the consumer to make a choice on who does what type of finish that will best fit their needs.
