I know in some states trolling is not allowed but have you ever trolled a glider before? Just curious

Yes I have. Good side to side action and I have caught fish on them too most notabley the slammer drop belly for this application. Others will work too.

Best gliders to troll are the ones that will walk the dog on a straight retrieve-hellhounds and slammer drop belly gliders are two worth mentioning. Ive also had some luck trolling a Novak Infuriator from time to time.

Try running those same lures 10-20' down on a dipsy diver sometime..

One bait that would DYNAMITE trolled is a Musky Snax glider. You can just crank the reel and it will dart side to side! Awesome baits!!

The hell hound looks realy good on a troll lots of sway. and although not a true glider the Sledge is a proven troller. it has the same sway as gliders when trolled. Lary Jones has caught some on Jerkos trolling. I havent . and I know some salmon guys caught a bunch on baby jerkos they say the work better than j plugs, again i tried it a little last fall & nota but nothing else worked for me either.. they have a nice swing.
I'm going to try this more this season. one thing if your gliders blowout trolling, try a snap weight on your line. Put the weight about 20+' in front of the lure. The weight will kill the action if it gets to close. Iv also ran them behind downriggers.

Hughes Rivers troll awesome especially the larger shakers in the 8 to 12 inch range...and my snax older style gliders troll awesome too...I have trolled the 14" Sucker once or twice...that is about all you can do with it due to it being so freaking heavy...great action though...never caught anything trolling a glider but still looks sweet...

Bobbie Baits are awesome trolling lures, especially if you keep the rod in your hands and use a rip and rise technique.
