Hey,

Just wanted to give everyone out there a head’s up as to the status of the 2nd Edition of Musky Trolling Secrets. After much debate and turmoil, I’ve decided not to publish the 2nd edition based on work and family commitments dominating most of my time and put the business up for sale. The decision was made that much more difficult as the 2nd edition is almost completed and the hard work is over.

Both Donnie and want to thank all of you for your support, words of appreciation and suggestions for improvements. Our goal was to disseminate the knowledge we’ve obtain over the years to make everyone’s time on the water more productive. Based on the feedback and pics we’ve received, I know we accomplished our goal. Many personal bests to 56” and kid’s first fish were a result of this guide.

Thanks again to all of you and especially Slamr and Worral for maintaining the greatest muskie related website.

Best wishes and release a hawg in ’07, Mike

What a bummer....was really looking forward to the second edition. But, for the reason you've stated, it's understandable. Thanks for all your hard work and thanks for that first edition...

That's too bad you're calling it quits. I don't blame you cuz it's a bear trying to make any real money in the fishing business.

Next time you're in MN drop me a line. Maybe we can test out some of those figures out on the pontoon with a few beers.

Perhaps there is a way to release the 2nd Edition in electronic (PDF) format? Maybe you could get paid on a per download basis or something like that. I would hate to see all your hard work never get released.

Just a thought.

Not a bad idea in some ways. Pay $20 to download and just print the ones you need. As long as too many people don't make copies.

To All MuskieFirster's,

I am diligently trying to convince Mike to allow people to download the full .pdf of ALL the other baits from the 2nd edition. He is very concerned, and to be honest, quite upset on the first go around, that he may not EVER share the info he has gathered. I kind of don't blame him....there was so much plaigerism before it cost us a dream! So mnay guys traded information off the CD, or copied it out of the book....pretty frustrating.

None-the-less....if there was a way of policing the industry, Mikey would share EVERYTHING! But, there's not...so, what to do??

Got the email the other day saying this effort was officially done! To bad ;( Up for sale from what I know if anyone has the balls to have a go at it. All my money is sunk in other business ventures right now or I might think about it...
Too bad. Great resource and I am glad I paid for both the book and the CD.

I purchased the first book, spoke briefly with Mike over the phone and he seems like a great guy. I would also be really interested in purchasing whatever info that he has gathered for the second edition. I don't know how you safeguard against guys copying info and passing it along. But I do know I was not one of them, and the money I spent was really worth it. Thanks for the hard effort and I absolutely would buy extra info even if it wasn't in a completed book form. I hope you will find a way to provide the info, and also make the money that you deserve. But in any event your book was the single best purchase in musky gear I made and was responsible for me becoming a much better troller. Thanks Mike.
