Sat/Sun April 28/29 - SHAWNEE MUSKIE CLUB - LAKE KINKAID
Sat/Sun April 28/29 - FOX RIVER VALLEY - CHAIN OF LAKES
It seems odd to have two events for one organization on the same weekend. |

| The IMTT is organized through the help of muskie clubs throughout the state. So it is not ONE organization.
Fox River Valley has been running tournaments throughout the years and only now by fishing it you can gain points towards the IMTT trail.
In my opinion, they should not have a tournament on the same date as the PMTT on the same body of water, but who's to say they did not schedule it and make it official before the PMTT put out there schedule.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | The FRV tournament was moved to the preceding weekend (April 21st) because the PMTT scheduled the last weekend of April. This makes the second tournament in a row where the PMTT jumped on the same date the FRV chapter has been using for many years. Pretty crappy if you ask me. |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | If the IMTT is on the weekend before the PMTT event than this will help the IMTT by having more people entering it because of others trying to establish a pattern before the PMTT.
The Fox Chain will definitely be pounded this spring. I may fish both events also.
Might even make a donation to the FRV club for future stocking. See ya down there.....

Well, since you are asking about our crappy way of jumping people on their events. First off, I have no idea where the second tournament in a row comes from. As for this year, the PMTT called and asked the FRV what date they would like, since they were there first, before we announced our dates. They wanted the weekend before to maybe help draw more into their own event while pre-fishing for the PMTT and they moved it up a week. We wanted to work around them as this is our policy as we always try not to conflict with other local events and never just apply for permits or make our announcements first.
Last year in 2006 we accidentally scheduled the Petenwell event the same weekend Todd Forcier had his annual event and didn't realize this until after we started advertising. We called him and asked him what he would like us to do. We moved our date, changed the ads and life moves on.
Folks, I swear, we don't bite here at the PMTT office. You can call and ask us anything. Actually, we are generally pretty easy going and like to hear questions and feedback. If you're not a very good talker, you could always send over an e-mail.
Take care,

| To not cause any confusion, the accurate schedule (at the moment) has been posted. http://illmuskie.com/
PS. The PMTT does a great job, I don't care what anyone says. |
