| Hello all -
I've been stuck in Arizona for the last 8 months, so have kind of fallen out of the musky loop. I see a bunch of discussion of the new 48" limit on Cass Lake in the 2007 PMTT post.
Can someone please tell me which lakes went to 48"?
Thanks - Midge |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Pepper, it's going to be on around 20 lakes to start and we'll see where it goes from there.
I'd personally like to see a min of 50" on the natural lakes with a possible 54-55" limit on some of the trophy lakes like Leech, Cass, Mille Lac, Vermillion, etc. |

| If I member correct it was 54 what was wanted on the big 4 leech,Milly, cass,V but the DNR advised we would never get it too big of a jump from 40'..maybe in a few more years we can go for it has 48'-54' wont be has big a leap |

| Hey Guys,
I think this a good idea but, everything is tied to the Misssissppi watershed. The only thing
I wish they looked at some lakes in the DL Area and Alexandria area also. On the other side
of things it's a start. |

| If I remember correctly there were something like 45 or so water bodies with connecting rivers. Not all waters are in the Mississippi drainage. Vermilion goes north to Hudson Bay along with the Bigfork and Little Fork Rivers. Saint Louis River goes out to the Atlantic via the great lakes. The only thing I know for sure is that the Mississippi River from Grand Rapids to Coon Rapids has been signed off on and will be catch and release only. St Louis River may wait a year and go to 50" to be the same as the Wisconsin side. My gut tells me that the list will be signed off on and go into effect in 2007. Maybe in a few years we can bump it up again on some of the trophy lakes. Baby steps are better than no steps.. |

| Silver Scales;
My thoughts exactly about saying not to be greedy. Baby steps first.
Slow and steady wins the race.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | Hopefully this will help things in WI. Maybe someday anyways.
Perhaps it may sway the old guides(one in particular), dumb resort owners and Chamber of Commerce who fought against the last batch of size limit proposals. Or, maybe raise enough support and squash their influence.
I don't get why anyone is against higher size limits on a few good lakes with potential in WI. |

Location: Rhinelander. | I don't think the arguement in wisconsin would be over just a few good lakes. I think the support is there for that and I think its ok also. I believe the problem was it was something like 48 lakes they wanted it on. That was not going to happen from the get go. Then they reduced itto a smaller number of lakes. I think if they push for it again in wisconsin and limit it to about 2 dozen lakes it would be approved. As someone said in another post, baby steps!

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Hey Mike,
They're going to be passed in the rules committee in a few weeks. Unless there's something major (and nothing's come up that I know of) it's going to pass.
Thanks Baldy. Don't forget to thank ALL the MI chapters and the MMA as well. The MMA is really helping the sense of teamwork in the MN muskie community. In the old days we relied on a few people to carry the mail. Now I've been seeing more and more people getting interested in improving the fishery. |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | I'm surprised that they stopped at Child Lake on the Boy river chain. They hit all of them except the last two in the chain.
Sure wouldn't hurt if they added those lakes as well..
