Location: On your favorite spot | I like a short rod for jerks, dawgs, and walkthedog surface baits. Never paid more than $50 for a rod so I can't comment much there. South Bend makes a great 'trophy tamer' rod, 6 ft, for around $25 that works for me. Action is a little slower than normal. |

| 7' medium-heavy to heavy with a moderate-fast action is my favorite. |

Location: Girdwood, Alaska | I use the St. Croix 6'9" Heavy Premier, seems to work well for jerkbaits |

| For jerkbaits, the 6'9" Premier is tough to beat, but for twitch baits, I would consider a longer m/h action rod like the Premeir 7'6". Kdawg |

| The St Croix Avid 7'6" heavy does them all great. I like the long rod for suicks. |

| 7'9 st croix 1-4 ounce swimbait tournament series rod
enough strenght, yet a hair on the whippy side, i like that. |

| wow the 6'0 heavy is my all time fav for working suicks i wonder why nobody else has said that????? maybe because of the difficulty of the figure 8? it is not very hard to do i figure 8 you just hve to get closer to the water thats all. |

| short rods suck for so many reasons...longer rods will put more fish in the boat... |

Location: Maple Grove | I like my 6'9" heavy avid. Longer rods for other apps yes, but I like the shorter stick for jerks. |
