Hey fellow leader makers,my question is how many times do you reuse your swivels, either ball bearing ar crane ? I have a bunch that have been used for one season and are in decent shape. Are these worth putting back on a new leader? Thanks for the help,Paul

I recycle them until they no longer spin freely or the black paint gets worn off to the point that they become "flashy". I'd say go ahead and continue to use them.

I never reuse and always keep 40-50 new leaders made up and in the boat.Your strongest link is your weakest spot!

I only use ball bearing swivels and my answer is the same as jlong's. I've never had any failures. That's on the swivels only. I almost never reuse the snaps unless I get a bend in the leader right off and the snap is still basically new.

Hi Paul:

I almost always reuse the ball bearing swivels, and if the snap still looks good I reuse that too. Can't say that I've ever had a failure of the swivel, I've had a snap or two fail, but it wasn't because I was reusing one of them.

See you in Oct.

I agree with Jlong, Doug, and Theedz155, use them again if not excessively worn.
