Location: Eastern Ontario | Looks like an Ottawa and St-Lawrence fish. I'll be down there next week and maybe even later as they are predicting favorable weather for the next 2 weeks. I don't see ice up untill some time in January.
I was actually out Thursday to close the Ontario season and all I got was a smaller fish. |

| Did the Ottawa one day last week(Sunday) and not even a bite. The smaller fish were biting well last week ( 2 or 3 a day)and we lucked out yesterday. We got the first one 5 min. after starting and got the other one about a half hour or so before dark.No other bites that day and no small fish. |

| Two different strains, and both of them are just beautiful.
Not a mark on either one, and both are prime representatives of their species.
Dam, I'm envious.

| We have all types here.Spotted ,barred, clear and all variations in between. They were both pretty nice, not beat up at all, though the second fish(spotted one),was missing about 2 inches of it's gill plate cover on the side you can't see. This made the end of it's gills visible even with the gill plate closed. No signs of trauma.Looked like a birth defect?Who knows?I once caught a musky with it's two rear fins completely missing.(The 2 on the underside just behind the belly).I never noticed until i looked at the pictures a couple of days later!Again no signs of trauma or fin clipping, just completely flat where the fins should be.

Location: Palm Coast, FL | Was out last Thursday and Saturday...boated 5 total and lost 5...although nothing like the 50+"ers above. We did have an individual troll past us while we were casting and said he did pretty well with a 30" and a 50". He said the 50 was going on the wall. We asked if we could see it since it was in his livewell. After seeing the nice fish we questioned the length. He said he had not measured it but the livewell was so long and the tail was curled. We measured the fish at that time and low and behold...46.5-47". He said it was a fish of a lifetime and was still going to mount it. BELIEVE ME...we tried and tried to get him to release it but no such luck.
Casting is going great in IN. I know of many fish caught over the past 2 weeks all casting. The 38" and 42" we boated on Saturday were both on a figure 8. |
