anyone know any other lakes in the northern IL lake county area w/good #'s of musky? I have heard rumors of some lakes and such just wanting to confirm these. also if anyone has seen stocking dnr articles please let me know....I live right in Fox Lake just wondering if there is anything local worth trying...

Theres a bunch of lakes in N. IL w/skies. Some allow boats, some do not. Sterling Lake, Independence Grove, Pierce Lake to name just a few...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you're hearing rumors about lakes with good populations of fish and some nice ones to boot, chances are no one's going to release that info over the internet. At least I wouldn't...

Try obtaining stocking records, visiting bait shops, etc. Those might be more reliable sources of information.

everyones lip locked on this issue and thats fine....I tihnk they can be found in ALOT more places than you think.....grab a lake and start fishing it, ask a local bait shop and find out....cant hurt..

I think even a modest lead on a good lake is worthy of a trip or two to check things out. The IDNR website has creel reports and stocking histories of each lake in Illinois. The Chicago Muskie Show hands out creel survey reports each year. If you are going to attend I highly suggest picking one up.

Everyone's lips are locked on this issue OVER THE INTERNET for good reason. Sit down man-to-man with a lot of good anglers and they will probably be more apt to help you. If you knew where a tree that grew money could be found, would you put it's location on the internet? Probably not. Would you help a friend or aquaintence? Chances are better. Get my drift?
