I have issues

I went and got my boat out of winter storage today. So i open up the garage door and say : "hey darlin, i missed you this winter". Talking to a boat in my mind denotes serious problems! At least i was aware enough to recognize my problem. It has seemed like an extraordinarily long winter!

Don't feel bad Dave...I carried one of those little plastic "smoking monkeys" in my pocket when I was in college for at least 2 yrs....used to talk to him + introduce him to people + he had girlfriends too...been a long time ago but every once in a while I wonder what happened to him....probably still covered in the sand on a beach in N.C. waiting for me to find him! Boys I think we all have the same problem, every day berore for work I walk out my kitchen door into the garage and walk by my boat and say wont be long now, gotta love attached garages.
Was out plowing this weekend and saw a 30,000 boat in a driveway full of snow, boat was to big for the garage, the man needs to buck up for a cover. Will give him some s--t when I see him.

I pet my boat every time I walk past it, if I get caught I just say I'm wipping off the dust, there are times where I could swear I hear the boat say " DON'T LEAVE" to which I respond it won't be long

Is It Spring Yet????????

My boat gets out of prison this friday at 10:30 AM, woohoo, bout time she was back home. After a few mock casts into the lawn, its off to the Mn expo, fri afternoon.

Slamr, I took my rods out of the boat last fall and they are now leaning in the corner of my bedroom right next to my head. That might explain the dreams.
Glad I took all the baits off, could have gotten interesting.[] []

I usually don't talk to my boat unless I am in it or putting it on the trailer.I have to confess that I talk to my lures I know I am not alone on this sad issue.I learned this from a famous musky guide who constanly talked to his lures,it didn't work but it is the little things you learn on the water [:p] . Good Luck to all,Paul

I'm with you guys. I store my boat outside in a storage place because my wife won't let me put it in the garage. Every time it snows I go to the storage place and clear the snow off her (the boat not my wife).

Next winter I will find some indoor storage for the winter.

It felt soooo good yesterday to hitch up the Gambler and take it down the road to a mechanic, who is going to repack the trailer bearings, check the brakes (I assure my wife that the boat has good brakes as well as the trailer!) and get it ready for a wet run this weekend. I'm with you, TECK, limber the craft up a little before getting all the way to Morehead and finding out there is a problem. We don't talk to the boat much, but we did wave at it this morning as we drove by. I don't kiss fish prior to release, either, do I need to get more in touch with my sensitive side? m[8)]

No Worries Cory...

Ol' grey is tucked nicely away in a heated bedroom...she whimpered a the first few nights in her new home like a new puppy but has now settled in nicely.

This morning we had a cup of coffee together and watched the snow and discussed where will boat our first 50"er together...[]

Scratch:
Lets get something straight! We don't treat our boats like some piece of property! We develop a relationship WHICH, by the way, takes time and effort!! We nurture our boats! we don't USE them like some $5.00 hooker!!!...........what the hell am i saying!!!!!!??????[:p]

I've gotta start being nicer to my boat, or she's not gonna be happy for the Rainy River here in hte next few weeks. I think she feels neglected, and she knows that I look at other boats. But I know and she knows that all I have to do is lube her up a bit and she's ready to go all weekend long. Man, I feel like a bastard. :)

I have my boat parked in the front yard in the hopes that someone will drive by and steal it. It is the worlds worst boat, but I can't save money because I fish too much, and by too many lures. I continue to put into my 401K, "the michigan lottery", but she aint building to quick. So everytime you see a poor guy in a crappy boat holding a fish and smiling that is me.
I have the same affliction that ails the rest of you, I put my rods in my den room, hung all baits in the basement, sharpened hooks 30 times, and typed my fingers off all winter. 65 fish, 4 over 50"es, and one over 40 lbs. I will not stop fishing this summer until I complete this goal, I vow this on the grave of my dead labrador "LOU".

I paid my baby a visit this past week, took off her clothes...I mean cover and did a little cleaning. With the way the weather has been it doesn't look like I will bring her out till the middle of April or so.

Hey all: I don't see where any of this behavior would cause anyone concern about having,"issues." If you did'nt behave in this manner, THEN I would say you have "issues." [;)]

AAAAAArrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh! It's so difficult watching her sleep under the cover's. But I know once her covers are off & she's wet, she'll willingly respond to my guiding touch. I to know the pain of this forced winter abstinance! I envy those southern Muskie hunters, they get it every weekend, if they are up for it. []
