| Does the 12/24 designate that this charger can be used on a one OR two battery system???? Thanks, the rookie. |

| It was a general question. I have seen chargers in catalogs that state the 12/24. I am awaiting a 55PD. It will run off a 12 volt system. I will start with that. I do not know yet how much I will drain off the Everstart. It is a new battery, a 27 series. I was looking at getting a charger that could do both setups. Is there such a charger out there? An onboard charger is new territory for me. I have read the archives on this subject. On fellow says don't expect full recovery in the morning if you only have 5 amps per bank( If the batteries are really down). I was looking at a Minn Kota charger. The charger I have now is a portable that you clip on the battery, which is ok for a single. I just want to save climbing in the boat every night, to clip it on. An onboard would make it much simpler, it's already there. Thanks. |

| Maybe what they mean by a 12/24 or a 12/24/36, is that chargers' ability to seek out the lowest charged battery in the setup and then go to the nest and so on, depending on the numer of banks. I saw this in the Pro Mariners line ad Cabelas Advanced Angler also. What do you think? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Each bank of any onboard charger charges a single battery. If the charger is a two bank, it can be used for a 24 volt two battery system, or a start battery and a 12 volt battery for your electric. A three bank can be used for the start battery and the two trolling motor batteries for a 24 volt system, or just the trolling motor batteries for a 36 volt. |

Steve's right chargers do not charge at 24 or 36 volts. just twelve. the bank deignates number of battery's. Look very seriously at the Dual-Pro by Charging Systems International. An excellent charger, waterproof reliable and simple. When you do choose a charger buy only a 10amp charger, one that shuts off when your battery's are full and monitors you battery condition. I plug mine in post winterizing and unplug it in the spring at summerizing. |
