Any chance for open water in Polk Co, WI this weekend. I was thinking of hitting Bone or Deer one more time this year before putting the boat away. If anyone from the area has any input that would be great.

Thanks,

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
The forecast doesn't look too good over there, it will be touch and go. We have some skim ice on the ponds, it's snowing in Rhinelander right now, and it looks like highs in the 30's and lows in the teens and twenties for the next two weeks.

Thanks. If it closes up, does anyone have suggestions of somewhere else to fish? I would like to get out that ONE MORE TIME

PM me if you have any suggestions.

Try the St Croix River. There are some nice fish creeping around if you know whare to look.

The Apple river should be open.
Gens bait is right there by the landing if you need suckers.

I have fished the river many times, but it was frozen over a week ago. Maybe it has opened back up, but with the shallow water and very slow current, it usually freezes ahead of the other lakes in the area.

Thanks, for the info, if you know it is open that would be great as I love fishing it, but I really think that it is or will be frozen over by the weekend.
