When you start out with a dry clean boat, get to your first spot and half of your cold weather gear is covered in ice, and all of the boat carpet is covered in ice. You're the only boat at the launch and on the lake, and the though actually crosses your mind that, "this is stupid, what am I thinking?" and you shrug it off and keep fishing.

Ice is on the windshield of yer boat when you get to the launch, and your suckerwell lid is frozen shut. You can live with the ice on the windshield of the boat, but you contemplate urinating on yer brand new boat's carpet to "de-frog" the livewell lid open, no matter who is standing around.

You run into Mike Hulbert and he is wearing a pair of socks.

I chipped ice off my rods and reels saturday and two weeks before that could not use two reels becose they froze!
