| I have mounted the transducer on my 1890 and I get a good reading, I have it on the passenger side hlf way between the 1st and 2nd strake I guess if thats what you call them.
Anyway my issue is that I get a mist coming up from the transducer and at WOT it sucks back into the boat, now i have the full windshield, so at 60mph the windshield I would suspect creates a vacuam or vor tex sucking the mist back into the boat getting the inside of the boat wet.
I slid it up a bit more so I am going to see if that helps?
So where do you guys mount the transducer on a Tuffy?
I suppose I could slow down?? No way |

| Your transducer is too low if it is kicking up that much water. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Place a straight edge on the bottom of the boat under the transducer, and adjust the bracket so the transducer is sitting on the straight edge. A yard stick flat against the running bottom works great. After the transducer is adjusted to sit on the straight edge flat, tighten it most of the way and tip the back edge down about 3 degrees. Now the transducer is part of the running bottom water flow; no mist! |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Glass it into the bottom! It's easier then you think. That way you can break ice with the back of the boat w/o breaking the transducer as well. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I don't think that will work; the composites in the running bottom are not real friendly to a sonar signal. |
