Hey. For you guys that use the newer gold maina reels, how good are these reels? What are the reels pros/cons? I am thinking about going with the 5.2:1 ratio and the power handle for throwing medium to large bucktails? How much does this reel usually cost? I have seen $80 on BPS website and $100 in the BPS catalog. Thanks for any info!

I have heard that they were similar to pflueger trions/guide series reels. If thats true, then they are pretty good reels.

A good reel for the money, $79.00 is what I've paid. I have two of them and use the 5:2:1 ratio w/ Power handle for the #10 bladed bucktails and they work great. I've used them for two seasons, had to replace one, but BPS has excellent customer service. I would recommend it.

I have two - they are a good value for the money. I was using one at first to throw a big Cowgirl and I think that may have stressed the reel a little bit but for everything else they work fine. I also like the rod that comes with the combo.
