Location: New Baden IL | I fished with Max McCombs today, and despite some tough cold front conditions, Max scored his new PB!!!!
A dandy 47" hit a black and nickel LLungen Nut Buster!!!
I got a sweet photo of her catching her breath after the release too!

Location: New Baden IL | I did get a tag number on that fish, I'll post the info when I get it.
Funny thing is both of the fish I saw had tags on them. Both tags looked like the same "vintage" and had almost identical slime covering on them.
The tags are about pencil lead thick, and both of these were about as thick as the cord on my mouse. It took some scratching to get the gunk off of them!
Thanks for the congrats, guys!
P.S. Matt, I have almost identical gill raker cuts on my hand from that fish as I did from yours. I gotta start putting my Musky Armor gloves on! |

Location: New Baden IL | Wow quick turnaround on the tag info from our great biologist, Shawn Hirst. They do a great job down here at Kinkaid.
Here's the skinny:
This beautiful 47" was wearing tag number 02842. She was a lovely lady first caught in a trap net by Shawn and crew on 3/26/2002. She was 43.3" long at the time.
She showed up again in Chad Cain's boat (go figure) on 6/7/2002
She has been lurking unreported since till we caught her on 10/28/2006.
I sure hope to dance with her again!!
