I was hoping to get some suckers for fishing Bone or Deer lake in Polk Co. WI this weekend, however, the place I usually stop to get them at is already backordered. (Gen's Bait, in Amery) I usually call and reserve them ahead of time, but when I called yesterday, she was doubtful she would be able to fill my order.

Does anyone know of a place between Watertown, MN which is a western subarb of the twin cities, and the Baldwin, WI exit off of 94 in WI that carries muskie suckers that I could contact?

Thanks for your help.

Tony,

We're in the same boat for next weekend for Polk County. Alot of the bait shops in the area can't get anything but the 8-11" suckers. If anyone in that area knows of a bait shop that is carrying the ex-large suckers, that information would be appreciated.

I think St. Croix outdoors is on Hwy 8 on the edge of town? If so, it's only ~4 min from Deer.

Thanks guys,

I called St. Croix Outdoors and they are trying to get an order in for me. You are right, it is just off of 8 and VERY close to Deer lake.

St Croix Outdoors is a good stop, but they usually do not have them. Deer Lake Sports is about 2 miles east of St Croix on the south side of HWY 8 (small Green shack)......they always have them in stock. I have had no trouble purchasing them the past 3 weeks and have landed a few skis on Deer using them. They usally have them from 10 to 20+ inches....3-5 bucks each
