I'm taking a day off and hitting the lake on Wednesday 10/25. I will be dragging a couple of suckers as well as casting. If anyone is free and wants to come along send me a PM by 4:00 PM tomorrow with a phone number where I can reach you .

Yesterday 10/25 was a nice day to be on the water, a little chilly in the morning, but not bad. I ended up missing a hit on a sucker and having a follow from a small musky on a Hellhound.

Maybe someone can help me on my sucker fishing. The sucker hit came on the line I had trailing behind the boat under a bobber. I was working a shoreline in 10-12' of water and the sucker was close to bottom. I heard the clicker go off and confirmed that it was a fish. I picked up a much slack as I could then set. Nothing. I did feel a little weight, but never got a hook in the fish. I'm pretty sure the fish was moving away. Surprisingly I did get the sucker back as one hook of the lift off rig did not break free. The sucker had obvious teeth marks and slashes. In hindsight I probably should have used the electric to get closer to the fish before trying to set the hook. My question is how close do you need to be when you set the hook with a quick strike rig, especially when the fish hits the trailing sucker that is maybe 20' back under a bobber?

Moved a couple of fish Wednesday night on Pewaukee, but couldn't get them to eat. It was a great night out the only thing missing was the bite. I talked to Sanks and he's had the same thing happen alot of followers but none eaters.

Enjoy the moment...
