| I'll be fishing there next weekend. Any unusual lake tips or facts that I can spring on my host? Anybody have a good fish story from up there? He's summered on the lake for about 10 years, so I'm counting on him for the specifics, but it would be nice to have some info. Anyone?

| Call the nearest DNR office and ask to speak to the Fisheries Biologist. |

| Thanks Nut & Ranger. I'll try both. I was wondering if anyone lost a 60"er there....oh wait, that's that other thread.......maybe I'll just make up a story about slamr & lambeau & Magruder & bnelson & Okray and 4 or 5 others on this forum doing battle in a private champs tourney that was "figure-8's" only....no casting or row trolling allowed. When slamr was about to land his 3rd over 45" fish (all on 8's) someone shows up with the handle end of a Frabill thrashing away and the battle breaks out! Or maybe I'll just call the DNR. I need to go fishing.........

Location: Iowa | I stuck my personal best on that lake exactly I year ago this sunday 10/22/2006 on an spot on the spot of which I would like to keep to myself...great lake though with some tanks in it...we lost 2 fish on suckers too in the 2 1/2 days we fished it...if you like to troll, you'll like this lake...there is very steep dropping shelf if you will right around Eagle Point that the ciscos stack up on in preparation for their spawnin...we marked tons of huge arch on the depth finder and trolled back and forth for almost 2 hours ion the isolated area but couldn't convince anything to eat...maybe we were using the wrong baits...a hooker and a 14" Jake...oh well...good luck though...Namekagon Island is an awesome spot too...especially the spine that sticks out...

| I figured that there was more to the story of "no fish in that lake". Congrats on the PB (belated). Thanks!

Location: WI | Fond memories of the lake when I was in high school (20 years ago).....
I could tell you stories of listening to Cheap Trick on the rental cabin's 8 track player, sneaking beers into the cooler to go fishing (pre-muskie days), rowing across the lake with my best friend as we got attacked by mosquitos ALL the way home, and my friend, training for cross country that started in a few weeks, being chased by a bear on his rural run!!!
Man...those were some fun times...I hope you have fun too!!

| Here's the report:
Any questions?
Actually, it seems like a nice lake.....lots of weeds, some rocks. I saw some pics of some mid & upper 40" fish, but we couldn't raise anything. I should have taken my wife. She can usually coax one along. Oh well, that's why it's muskie fishin' and not muskie catchin', right? If invited back, I'll definitely say yes.

| you just have to know how to fish it.
Generally that is the only lake I fish for the hayward tournament.

| I can tell from the last picture where you were fishing. For the most part its ususally best to stay over the top of the weed line near a drop off. North East edge of the lake near the campgrounds. |
