Location: lansing, il | over the weekend my computor crashed...we lost alot of info on our system that is non retrievable..we got lazy saving important business info and pictures to disk over this past year and lost all of them, fishing pics, kids pics, family pics, etc! make sure you save your pictures and important info to a disk or separate harddrive or somthing dont leave them on your harddrive alone!! my harddrive went out within a day starting to have trouble....i was told if you hear a out of the ordinary "clicking" sound. shut your system down and get it to a shop and have them retrieve all your imortant information! the clicking is a indication that your hard drive getting ready to go south! on the flipside..this new system is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Location: minocqua, wi. | computers have moved many miles ahead since my last new pc a couple of years ago. i got a new hot-rod too ... an ultra lightweight sony vaio with the fingerprint recognition sign-on with built in video conferencing which is an ubelievable tool. it also has a satellite feature that can connect to cingular for wireless connectivity from almost anywhere. last week i had the laptop plugged into the cigarette lighter on the boat wirelessly connected to the web ... my blue-tooth on my ear and blackberry on my hip with a sucker on the side and casting while working hands-free. any information i needed to work was at my fingertips ... it works great with a nice weather forecast ... but, one day we'll have water-proof laptops and all will be good in the world.
the leashes have come off of the work world and the dawn of freedom and creativity have replaced the look over their shoulder world of managment. i'm working directly with people 9,000 miles away like they are sitting in the boat with me! ... a satellite video conference with china while sitting in my boat on lake tomahawk! ... how cool is that!
the world is indeed flat my friends ... it isn't "gonna" happen, it's "already happened"

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Jon- ditto! Nothing else matter's in the corporate world. People wonder the same about me. Why/How the f*&% does this guy do what he does?? It's a connected world! Time zones, borders, etc, they diminish more & more each day.

Location: minocqua, wi. | we built a great company and a really nice business only for it to be sold to a billion dollar paper company to come in and treat everybody like crap, piss away the opportunities and bonuses we paid our workforce so they could pay for a bad business deal they had made. then i woke up, decided i wasn't leaving the area and refused to make another dime for a company like that ever again ... had my own independence day about 3 years ago and never looked back. the only risk you run is continuing to do something you don't like to do for someone that's not worth doing it for .... |
