| Anyone ever catch any really ugly fish? I've caught a couple scarred up beasts. This one was neat, as the other side of the fish was perfectly clean. We grow em tough' here in WI! |

| Hi Jason,
We were at Andy Meyers Lodge in July and my friend caught a muskie with a broken back or something because it had a big dip on it's back!
Thanks,
Don |

| Jason,
Don't have a picture handy, but every once in a while you see musky's with really ugly heads. There eyes seem to be bulging and are located higher than normal. I call them crowmagnum musky because they seem like evelutionary throw backs. No I am not fishing around nuclear plants.

| From the looks of the mouth of this muskie, he was used and abused. |

| This is by far the UGLIEST musky to ever be in my boat and a funny story to boot.
Paul Leitelt (person in photo) and Ed Vahary were out with me for the first time in 1999. Both are great to have in the boat and have become good friends since this day. It was a tough November day of fishing. We used livebait and Ed vertical jigged Fuzzy Duzzits the whole day. Paul did some casting throughout the day, but both his and Ed's butts were dragging after driving all night from Indiana to fish with me. Only action of the day had been a couple of missed fish on quick-set rigs. I announced the last spot of the day and as we finished it out with no action, Ed handed his jigging rod to Paul so that he could help me bring in our suckers as the day was over. Paul, who had not jigged all day, made two pulls on the lure and something hits it! He remarks that he thought he had a fish on. Ed can't believe it. He had that rod all day and not so much of a touch on the jig. Paul boats the fish (not much of a fish), the whole time Ed is giving it to with both barrels. "You S.O.B., I've been jiging that stupid rod all day! That's my fish you just caught!". And on and on. To make matters worst, when we get the fish in the boat we realize that it is the UGLIEST fish any of us had ever seen. It was all scrared up, had many ripped fins, and to top it off, it was blind in one eye! It had no eye on one side and had totally healed from the experience. That was more then Ed could stand, "Not only did you catch my fish, but its blind as well"! All Ed's ranting was in good fun and we just fell about the boat busting a gut. A nice way to end a not so good day of fishing. [:)] |

| Well my story is not as good as Joel's and I have no pics of the fish, but by far the ugliest fish I caught last year was a pike that had a hump on its back, at first I thought it was a forty five incher or so but the hump threw me off and it was a about 40 and the face of this fish was gross one side white and the other green, a very defined line that split this fish in two and along the fish one pale white no spots kinda a sickly gray color and the other green and spots. Never brought the fish in the boat I was afraid I was going to catch something form it[:knockout:] I hope not to catch a fish like that again
