Subject: Any findings from Dr. Sloss' work yet?


Any news on his work, preliminary findings? Seems like they had a ton of samples from the Chip and other waters this spring, would be interesting to see what his initial impressions were.... evidence of any hatchery strains, genetic "zones", similarities in larger Wi specimens.

What ever happened to the Butternut/LCO comparison?

Couldn't recall if there were any interim reporting protocals in the initial study plan. If not, maybe someone could find out.

I went and talked with his grad student Ed Murphy last week and got some pretty cool info about the comparison of the LCO strain and those in Butternut. The findings were that the two strains are different, with the LCO strain still being "pure".. if that is the right word. Ed said he should be getting more samples next spring and wrapping up his part in about a year. I do have some documentation from Ed. Let me know if you are interested. Hope that helps a little.
