I am looking at getting a Shimano Compre 8 foot rod. It says its power is heavy and the action is fast. Would this be a good rod choice for throwing bucktails? Anyone have any first hand experience with this rod? I will manily be throwing double cowgirls, triple xxx, mepps marabou, etc. Thanks for any info!

Go up one notch to the Extra Heavy model - still has the fast tip

I have the 8ft xh... not great for bucktails. I use it for bulldawgs, other big plastics, and spinnerbaits. I would stick with the 8ft heavy or go down to a 7'6" xh that I love for throwing bucktails. Great rods, especially for the money.
