Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Nasty cold snap here, officially bringing fall to the area...makes me think of muskies....makes me plan muskie trips....makes me think of muskie lures I must buy....makes me search for muskie lakes I must learn.....all while at work. I have zero concentration, only muskie focus.
Am I the only one so afflicted? |

| something about having to put on the goretex bibs that gets me thinking of big fat fall muskies!
It's that time of year when all the fair weather musky fishermen don't go fishing, when all the skiiers, pontooners, and jetskiiers put their toys away and the lakes are left to the diehards....
can't wait for end of october and November to get here..nothing better than the Badgers on the radio and my clicker going off!
Good times ahead. |

Does This Happen to YOU?
Am I the only one so afflicted?
More than I care to mention or think about. I've had the sickness too long..and with each year passing by and with each additional fish or encounter...it just simply gets worse....
It's just simply amazing how a fish can have such affects on people...positive or negative.... |

Location: nationwide | I have the same problem with one minor exception . . . . . my focus is only on the Chippewa Flowage. Ty gets a 50-3/4 incher yesterday . . . . and a couple other 50 plus inchers since Lablr Day weekend, plus many other fish in the mid to upper 40 inch range being caught . . . and when I see some of the photos where there is a background I know where most of the fish were caught. Plus I read about the musky hunt up there and read about the fish caught and where.
This is killing me to not be up there everyday all day, regardless of the season and regardless of the weather.
And I know I have family obligations with running kids to school, practice, games, and all the other things that go along with it but I can't stop myself from thinking about muskies and the flowage.
So yes, Slamr I feel your pain . . . . . . man do I feel your pain.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Let's just say my three hour Biology lab this morning from 9 to 12, there wasn't too much bio thinking going on. Muskies and just plain fishing on the mind non-stop. Oh, maybe thinking and looking at a few other things while walking around the campus but mainly fishing on the mind! Looking forward to Friday and being able to be on the lake again. |

| yes
except now, instead of it happening while im in shorts and all the fans are running......im in long pants and all the dock doors are closed.
oh.
and i'll soon be switching over gear appropriate for the weather.
i officially realized it this past weekend going to my first spot....."man, i maybe should have put long pants on!....kinda chilly this morning!!!!"
i have it so bad, i can't even concentrate on fishing when im fishing.....strikes that i visuallize taking place are actually starting to happen during mid fantasy...except....i'm thinking i'm still in the feverdream and i react very slowly..i missed 2 nice fish cuz of this the past few weeks.
not enough coffee? too much coffee??
hahahhaah
Cady was right when he told me I have it bad...REAL bad!!!

Location: Roscoe IL | I pounded a nail into my kitchen table so I could watch a muskie video while making Floro leaders yesterday. The nail helps me get a tight knot. My wife just about killed me! And yes I'm posting from work because the cool air has got the muskie mojo flowin! Just need to remain calm another few weeks & it's a full 8 days of fishing.
Tonight I re-visit the Great Muskie Hunt 1 & 2 with good old Al linder & work on QS rigs. Still enjoy those classics & it's been awhile.

| It used to make me want to climb a tree and sit for hours....now, that is physically impossible.
I'll have a few days here and there to burn up this fall, so I'm heading out to The Mississippi River
and I'm going to relax and catch walleyes and spend a lot of time alone. I can't spend the time alone in the woods, so I'll spend it alone on the river. Fall is a good time for me to flush my head and get my head back together spiritually.
Fall also means watching my daughter play hockey. Lots of hockey. Some times it's her playing and The Badgers playing in the same weekend. Somewhere in there I have to find the time to drill and weight over 200 lures. I might actually have a few at the booth during one of the shows for the first time ever, but thatmeans that I should be working right now.....and I just don't feel up to it. I'm going to miss the woods, and they'll be pulling at me, but I haven't been on The River since Easter. It's time to go back.
Maybe I won't come back. If not, you guys can have an auction and give the money to my kid. |

| WORK SUCKS !!! I can't tell you how many times I REALLY wanted to walk out of this place today , yet I'm still here !!! Beav I'm with you on being in the woods , too bad you can't do it . I only get to get out and chase critters ( with the gun , I often go by myself early weekend mornings with the camera ) one week a year and I look forward to it the day that it's over . I could spend fall outdoors everyday if it was possible !!! This time of year is when the wife doesn't like me so much , fishing in Key - West in march will make it up though !!! MMMMMMMM Blackened grouper sandwiches at the Tiki Bar !!! |

Just fish, who is going to stop you?
You have so many areas within hours of you. Sometimes you just need to fish average presured waters NOT prime muskie waters. LOL
Here is another spin on this topic: How would you like to get on the water for days and not get to reel in a fish or even take a cast? Even when the fish are hitting and multiple fish are comming in your boat. Take that for a few days and see how that feels. Yes it's a job but it gets to ya.
I just got off for Fridays match fishing deal against Trophymuskie. I have to work next Saturday but I will be sure to GET R DONE tomarrow. I hope!!!
Those toothy critters are going to get the smack down tomarrow. No I am not going to wait for the weekend. HA, Ha, Slamr.......I am going fishing tomarrow morning.....NA NA, NA, NA NA. |

Location: WESTERN WI | Have you ever awaken yourself and your wife by a violent thrashing about while dreaming that you have just set the hook on a Fall pig that engulfed your favorite lure. I have done this up to 3 times in one night I have also played with the alarm clock thinking that it is my locator in my sleep and awoke to have my wife hit me and say, "Were not in the boat, were in bed now go to sleep you fish-a-holic." GOTTA LOVE IT!!!! Bring on the Fall pigs!!! |
|

|
| HAHAHAHAHA
i thought i was the ONLY person that messed with the alarm clock during a sleep dream thinking it was a locator or gps.
best part is, my alarm clock is across the room, so i was getting up, making "adjustments" and getting back on the "helm".
i'd love to see video of it. |
