Location: Roscoe IL | Would there be any problems using crazy clue on the knots when making leaders? My concern is with a possible breakdown of the fluro material with the chemicals in the glue itself. I tested it and it did seem to make the fluro somewhat brittle, but it's too difficult to tell working at a kitchen table.
I also made a few QS rigs using the 100lb fluro leader material, instead of the 124# wire I normaly use. It's stong stuff, but the rigs turned out perfect. Will a muskie bite right through this stuff if I use these rigs? |

| i was wondering the same about hitting my soft beads above my leaders with a bead of superglue (keeps me from banging the top eye with the leader/swivel).
the power pro and spectron both get stiff, but i haven't seen any failures because of it...yet, and hopefully never. |

| We have been using flourocarbon QS rigs for years. I thought about selling them but I couldnt get ovr all the people that said they could bite through 100 - 130lb flouro.
It is the ONLY way to wish Live Bait - makes the bait look like it is swimming without a god awful bunch of stuff attached. It will be interesting to see who claims the Flouro QS Rig as the original!!
Great Hunting!!
The Superglue is not doing anything to the Flouro by the way - the glue itself is stiff. |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | All of our ZaltNAD "No-See-Um" fluorocarbon leaders are super glued. I view the glue as an insurance policy. We haven't had a report of a failure yet and I'm surprised by the number of leaders we sell.....
I've been personally using them for +3 years, no failures..... I don't use wire. Be aware, not all fluorocarbon is the same, i.e., there are variations in material depending on the manufacturer. If it's easy to tie, it's less resistant to abrasion/teeth. I have sampled at least 5 manufacturer's fluorocarbon material searching for the clearest and the toughest stuff out there. I can honestly say it's not the most well known brand either.
Have fun!

| no prob, go crazy but you just need to paint/link the rings of the knot, no more. It's just insurance, the knot itself is really enough. |

Location: Toronto, ON | I tried the Hawseeker's Glue on my fluoro leaders.....great glue but it ruined the leaders--they snapped easily after applying the glue (few hours +). It appears to break the fluoro down. I haven't tried nor do I feel I need to apply super glue. $.02 TanMan |

| Flouro carbon leaders have been the mainstay in the off shore arena for many years - this is where they originated. I appreciate everyone coming up with ways to make them overbuilt but in offshore fishing they simply use a crimp and that is it. I go on several large group fishing trips every year and we never have leader failure due to crimps or the flouro. Never had a flouro leader fail of any design actually. I first starting using flouro leaders knotted and tied directly to my lures. Previously, I used to use Steel and Titanium and had failures pretty often.
Anyway - like I said - I think it is great that everyone is coming up with the extras - but as long as everyone is using a quality flouro carbon line and good terminal tackle it is hard to get concerned with knots, crimps or knots & crimps. I think they will all work.
Flouro is simply the ONLY way to present lures to fish. I can appreciate the presentatins that do call for soid wire leaders as that can make a difference in the action of the lure but other than that - flouro is again the ONLY way to fish.

Location: lansing, il | overbuilt for more confidence thank you very much!!! nothin wrong with any of the ways you stated the key being,,if done right...i learned alot from some offshore guys... in the world of muskyfishing it never hurts to add insurance or put more odds in your favor! id much rather use somthin over built than underbuilt 24/7. |
