Location: Norway | Cut of alittle more of the wood, and add a softplastic shad tail (Or a grub) to it, its a killer.

Location: Minnesota | If you are good with tape.....tape it back to the tail hook and then fill with epoxy. Repaint and you are good to go. If you don't have the epoxy or airbrush...I actually like the soft-tail idea a lot! Get a magnum grub tail from Stamina or Thorne Bros and cut to length and use.

| Try useing plastic wood on it to build up the tail and it should be good to go. |

Location: Norway | Remember to seal the cut very good, those balsalures sure likes to drink water 
Other SSR modifications include put 20 grams of led in the back, and they become suspending. Ive also put rattles in one. Cut the lip in the bend at the bottom, and you get a shallow running version. Cut away all the the lip, and bend the hook eye upwards, and you get a (crapy) glider version...

| The tape and epoxy idea works really well . Hang bait upside down, start wrapping tape around body where it is broken in an upward cone like fassion. Now hang bait from thet hook, mix two part epoxy and pour in to desired fill point. Let cure and touch up with enamel and you are back in business...... Good Luck Doug |

Its a compund that hardens and can be sanded, painted, etc just like wood.

| My luck the thing would snap at the repair with the fish of a lifetime and she would get off, I would buy another one, Fleet Farm has them pretty resonable around 10 bucks I think, to fix it with epoxy will run 3-4 bucks just for that, so unless the bait really means something to you I would spend the extra 5-6 bucks save the hours of work and get a freashy. IMHO |

| You get it at a hardware store. It comes in a small can and it is for filling holes in wood such as nail holes in trim etc. I use it to repair hook marks on lures before repainting them. It can be sanded or shaped and dries hard in a very short time.
