| Capt. Larry - I've discussed this trip with my 'banker'. At this time, unfortunately, I'm unable to make a financial committment in terms of a deposit, etc. Too many irons in the fire. I really would like to go and as we get closer to time I'll take my chances with finding lodging, etc. "Maybe" is the best I can do right now, very sorry. mm |

I am trying to get an idea on how many need Cottages and how many don't.Then I can setup one place for those who need accomidations at a bargined price.Then we will decide what we need to charge for an entre fee to cover other expenses,food,prizes etc.,it will be somewhere between $30 to $50 with all money being used toward the Outing, except $5 per Fishermen will go back to Chautauqua Lake thru the Chautauqua Musky Hunters Club Conservation Fund.I believe if we are going to use the Fishery we should put something back toward helping the Fishery staying viable,a donation of $5 each toward the Conservation Fund for Muskies on Chautauqua Lake will show that Muskiefirst Members care about Muskies where ever they fish.Then once I have an idea what accomidations we need,we will start the signup and collection of Outing Fees/Deposits for Cottages if you are of need.We will run the signup for 30 days,after that period of 30 days up to the Outing date anyone that wants to come to the Outing will have to make there own accomidations and will have to pay more for a late entre fee.We will have a survey to set the fee price and late fee price,after we get a list of how many are willing to go,the more Fishermen the less money in Fees are needed to cover food and prizes.But you the Fishermen will get to set the limits on what you want in return for your Outing thru your choice in setting the Fee. | I have already gotten some great prizes for the Muskiefirst Chautauqua Outing,7'Premier St.Croix Rod,7'Pro-Glass St.Croix Rod,Beckman Finsaver Net,(6) Lindy Big "M"'s Deepdiver Jtd,(6) Depthraiders Jtd,(6) 8" Tiger Tubes,(2) Legend Plows,(4) Legend Perchbaits,(4) Wiley Headshakers,and (2)pair of Knipex Cutters.
I'm sure the prize list will grow substatialy from now till August.Make a commitment today so we can start priceing Cottages for those in need.

| We now have around 14 people interested,so directly after the next two Shows that I'm headed for,I will have the Cottage Priceing and we can vote on the Entre Fee(that will be used to pay for food & more prizes,with $5 from each Fisherman going back to the Lake and the Muskies).

| We are now up to 17 Fishermen after a couple phone calls came in last night.We haven't even approached the Muskies Inc. chapters or the Niagara Musky assoc. either,could be well over 50 Fishermen by then,with thousands of dollars of prizes donated as well.We should also do everything possible to keep the Entre Fee as low as possible,around $25 to $30,that will cover the food and $5 back to Lake Chautauqua for its Muskies.Everyone that is interested in fishing the chautauqua Lake Outing please keep posting to this thread.In a couple days I will be back out on the road doing Shows again,will someone keep this thread back to the top,thanks. Still a long way off and a lot of things have happened in the last month. Will try to make it but I can't say for certain that I will. If I can , then I'll just sleep in the van in a parking lot somewhere if I need to. Look for 1 more at this "party" but I just can't commit myself to saying I'll be there and then not be able to make it.

| After talking too many Musky Fishermen at the Erie Show,it now looks like a possability of around 75 people in the Outing so far.We will have a Steak Fry one night and a Fish Fry the other night and get the Bar at the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Assoc.building opened for each nights activities,thanks to our friends from the Chautauqua Lake Musky Hunters Club.After this weeks Hamburg Show,I will get the signup started.

| Well then there is the possability to fish both the Muskiefirst Outing and the Muskies Inc. Tournament at the same time or we could move it to August 15th,16th & 17th.Everyone let me know what they think about moving the dates.Guide Crash Mullins is now interested in joining in on the Outing as well!We could also have Seminars each night at dinner as well. | Ok,now we need to settle on the entre fee price.The bigger the entre fee,the more we can do with prizes,food etc..All but $5 of the entre fee will be paid back out to the Fishermen thru food,prizes,etc.,the $5 will go back to the conservation and preservation of Chautauqua Lake and the Muskies there,via the Chautauqua Lake Musky Hunters Club.Is $50 to high for an entre fee for a three day Tournament?Everyone please give their input on what we should collect as the entre fee.Once we have settled on the fee,we will begin signup and collect of the fee so we can start buying prizes and setup facilities,etc.

| I got an e-mail from Mike Sperry the President of the Chautauqua Lake Musky Hunters Club,he is helping setup the logistics,cookouts etc..The Chautauqua Lake Fishing Club will talk about the arangements at their next Meeting coming up as well.I believe that $50 will the price for entre to the Muskiefirst Outing,this will give the $5 per Fishermen back to Chautauqua Lake and enough to pay for food and additional prizes besides the ones that we get donated.This week I will start a New Thread called the "Muskiefirst Chautauqua Lake Official Signup",we will go with the first 100 Fishermen that send in their $50 entre fee.We will also negotiate a fair price for Motel and Lodgeing for those who need and try to get as many at one main place to stay as well.Those who wish to drive home and back each day can also do that.This will be a very fun Outing,with lots of prizes,it will be on the honor system with another person in the Outing wittnessing sizes of each entre by a contestant.There will be prises for the Biggest Release each day,most points by total inches(1st,2nd,3rd place)at the end of the Outing,Biggest Musky Released for the Outing and draw prises for all that fish the Outing.No prizes will be awarded for a Musky that dies due to bad release or for kept fish.This is a totalty Catch & Release Outing,please handle the fish with the upmost care.
