| Did I find a gem. Last night when I got home from work, I was paging through some of the old Bass Pro Shop catalogs, the masters, and in the saltwater section I found a reel called the SX7700cl. It was a sharp looking reel,silver, and it appeared to be based on the Morrums.It had a one piece fram,a c2 drag system,whatever that was,the lever switch instead of the push button,3 ball bearings,and a line out alarm. It was heavy at 19oz. I checked my BPS catalogs and they were offered for sale between 1996-1999. Does anybody have this reel? How I missed a chance at this reel, i can't figure. If only Abu can build one like that again. Kdawg | |

| in October (i believe) Abu is releasing a new Big Game 7000 series that has instant anti-reverse, a lever release instead of the push button, and the new carbon matrix drag system. | |

| kdawg, I have to of the M7700CL's that I use for trolling. The spool on them is different than any other 7000 style reel as it has the bearings on the spool instead of in the sideplates. They are a cool looking reel but they did not really cast very well. I've tried casting them with a number of different baits and they do not perform anywhere near what a normal 7000 does in the casting mode. And they are HEAVY! | |
