I was wondering where everyone is heading this summer? My first trip is planned for the 4th thru 13th of July on the 'goon at Merkels Camp. My mouth is already watering for the chance at Mrs. Big and for Merril's camp supper.[:p] Can't wait!

Thanks,

Guam Bomb,
I haven't fished the 'goon that time of the year but Sworrall will probably help you out on that. He gave me some good info in the past and his track record on the 'goon is pretty impressive. If the weeds are still green and not all slimed up you might have some luck fishing them but the islands and shoreline on the south shore have alot of nice rock structure with pockets of weeds scattered here and there. I found a web page with coordinates of some of the hazards on Wabigoon http://www.wintle.on.ca/wabhazarddisclaimer.html, I know it doesn't have every hazard but it is a good start. They also have a form for users to update newly found hazards.[:((] Alot of these rocks would probably be good places for muskie, walleye or sm bass also. A fairly good color map is available at fishingmap.com and Indian Point will have a map that is black and white but it is just as good as the color one. Hope this helps.

June 21st -> 29th Canadian Muskie Opener. Staying at Dogtooth Lake Resort. (Trophy Walleye & Splake Lake) - but will have Esox Maniac up there and will be getting her hull wet in either Dryberry or Crow (Kagagi). No +60 mph blasts on those lakes. Haven't decided which one to fish yet, maybe couple days on both. Anyone who's fished either lake - advice is welcome [:p]

Esox Maniac
Fished Dryberry a couple of times, sort of two lakes in one,the north section is shallow with some nice bays and a huge sand flat, the south area is more wide open and deeper water, found most of our fish in the northern area,(mainly due to high winds) Best spot was this bay with two islands in it on the east shore, the first small island has a cabin on it( and also a dog that swims out to the boat ) in which we had numerous fish to the boat, we only boated two fish in two days but seen some nice fish.Good luck.

Todd b,

Thanks for your advise. I looked up the web site you mentioned and will be taking my GPS up. I also will be getting the map you spoke of. With the map from the web site, it looks like islands in front of Contact Bay may be a good place to start. Have you ever fished Mile, Butler or some of the other lakes? There is supposed to be a catch and release SMBass lake that is a must fish. Do you know which lake this is?

Thanks,

Steve
