I would get a 332 instead of either of the units you mentioned. Unless you are fishing REAL deep there is not need for the extra expense of a dual frequency transducer, plus they are notorious for having problems with the DF transducer. They have also had problems with the internal anttena that is why I would suggest the 332.

thanks but what about the 337 then with ext ant? does the DF have that many problems ? is the DF for deeper water only or can you gain anything with the DF in shallower water?

Lots of people reportedly having problems with the internal antenna. Although, I think that can be taken care of by reprogramming it or possibly just doing a software upgrade.

DF I haven't heard problems with one way or the other, but like noted the second frequency is usually really deep water, like 200 ft +. I would say fishing only inland waters like you mentioned, it would be a waste.

I have the 332c and have had 0 problems with it over the last 2 years. The only drawback that some have mentioned, including myself, is screen size. But to upgrade to the bigger screen size is several hundred more.

Personally, with the choices you've given, I'd go with the 332.

Good call on the 332c, but should have ordered the lakemasters chip instead of the navionics. You can zoom in much further with the lakemasters chip.
