| Had one straighten the hooks on a 10" jointed believer. Never really bought in to that story but now I know better.
I was prop wash trolling a favorite stretch on the Wisco when the fish hit. I grabbed the rod and the big fish went nuts. ( I have landed several 42-48" in the past 6 years never a 50" but this one was close) Then she started taking some drag swimming almost straight down and turning out away from the back of the boat. Suddenly the drag stopped working and she pulled loose. On inspecting the reel I noticed the powerpro had dug into the line. I run all 80lb PP except this reel - my back up rig had 40lb. I believe the diameter was too thin. Lesson learned the hard way

Location: north central wisconsin | Partner got a 45" on topraider and each of us missed and lost a couple short hitters on top while in far north WI. I left Sat. aft for home and he got a 47" on a Rylure Creeper that night. He was on fiy-ah. |

| Went to Bemidji for the weekend. Saw one sucker get hooked. He looked happy, though. hehehe
Actually, it was a nice relaxing weekend with the wife and daughter. Daughter swam in the pool, for most of the time it was open. Then on Saturday, went to Gregger's and Julie's wedding on the shores of Lake Bemidji. Met up with Dcuk and his wife at the reception at Greg's Git-R-Done Saloon. Had a good time. Greg snuck out early! Go figure! I think he just wanted to get enough sleep for the trip up to Sab Bay Lodge! Sure, that's why.
Good luck Greg and Julie. May you have many happy years together. |

Location: Athens, Ohio | Sure wish I could have been there to see Gregger tie the knot (noose?). I went fishing with Mauser on the Gauley River. Fantastic clear water conditions, we saw some nice sized smallies but no muskie in sight.
I found Mauser a jon boat, should be delivering it to him next weekend. He'll have a blast in the ten footer, getting towed around by four footers. m |
