Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I REALLY have enjoyed using the Firefox browser this summer. Tabbed browsing ( just hit control t to open another browser window) with near unlimited tabs. Forecast Fox, Fire FTP, Little Fox, Faster Fox and some of the coolest extensions and themes anyone could ask for. Anyone else using Firefox to browse the MuskieFIRST site?

| I've been using it for about a year and a half or so. Love it. I think it's much better than the IE. Plus with all the addons you can get for it, you can really customize it to your liking. There's stuff you can add that I have no idea what it does. Waaaaay to Zach for me.

Location: Madison, WI | Been using firefox for 2 years now, if you're still using IE... STOP! Get firefox you won't regret it. Popups are nearly eliminated, you don't have nearly as many crashes and their tech support is continously coming out with upgrades.
Just to add to this:
If you're not running anti-virus software because you don't want to drop the $50 a year. I've been using AVG for that past year and it's byfair one of the best out there. Daily virus updates, it runs with minimal amount of memory usage, IMO it's better than norton or mcafee. If interested go the link below and click the "Download Free Version" Make sure you check for updates.

Location: The Yahara Chain | I used to use it, my problem was that it wouldn't play a lot of video...MSN's for example...so I got frustrated and went back to IE.
Can you guys play MSN's video on your Firefox? |

Location: Madison, WI | I don't think you can, it says IE 6 or better to play videos. Some website aren't firefox compatible. I just switch to IE if i really need to go there. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | All you need to do is install the plugins needed for video. Firefox provided an upgrade a few months back to address the video issue, if I remember correctly. No problems with most video using the Firefox browser. |

I'm currently running a beta machine right now with Windows Vista beta., IE 7 beta and Office 2007 beta I've had some of the regular beta problems to be expected with device issues mostly but the new version of IE is even better than Firefox. |

| Just started playing with it this morning....pages seem to load a little faster on dial-up.
there's a lot of bells & whistles on this browser. now if I can just learn to use them all. |

type about:config in the address bar. then find these three entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
network.http.proxy.pipelining
set them to:
true
30
true
OH BTW if you're on dialup there's no need to change these settings. They are for Broadband and DSL.

Location: Norway | One annoying thing, that I havent figured out yet, is how to set msn to open Hotmail via the go to your mailbox button in firefox and not IE.
And the fact that Firefox can be a systemresource drain, if you "oversurf"

| Magruter. I have been using Mozilla, Firefox and AVG for about a year and a half. Love it all. I just made the changes you suggested to boost things up. What will this do for me? Location: Madison, WI | Oops Sry tom, this will just open up more pipes. Basically making the communication between you computer and their server a larger highway, instead of 2 lanes you have 8. It's not necassary, but it shouldn't screw anything up. I've been using it for about 6 months without a problem.

This extension stops all Flash animations from playing unless you click the "play" button.
AdBlock:

This extension lets you block all ads from a specific URL.
Addblock plus:

Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them. Right-click on a banner and choose "Adblock" from the context menu - the banner won't be downloaded again. Does not apply to MuskieFirst site. Use their SPONSOR's as much as possible.
