| Looking for info on the chain. Specifically water clarity and is it easy to motor from Presque Isle Lake to Van Vliet? According to my topo it looks real shallow, but shows no hazards. Thanks for any info. |

| The channel from Presque Isle Lake to Van Vliet Lake is fairly shallow. When you are passing through Averill Lake (from Presque Isle) stay closer to the shoreline on your left. I was able to see down at least 10-15 ft. in Presque Isle and there weren't any weeds. Of course, this was 4 or 5 years ago, so it may have changed.

| Presque Isles water can best be described as akin to Smirnoff Vodka- Extremely clear.The Channel to Van Vliet is navigable year round,but is very shallow.be especially careful right at the entrance to Presque isle as rock, wood etc is present and shifts evry season due to ice etc. If you trim up and go slow you wont have a problem. |
