Subject: prop dings


Finally caught bottom in shallow water with my 06 Honda 15 hp. All four blades have some small dents in the leading edge. Less than a 1/16". Do I need to worry running it as is. I don't know when it needs to be worked on or replaced. Help, thanks.

That small an amount of damage shouldn't be an issue at all.

Take a flat file to the edges to eliminate any of the roughness. Take just enough off to get things smooth.

If you leave the prop as is, it might vibrate a little more than what it should, so the little filing you do should help this out.
