I was just at my local fishing store and the guy working there told me that they can't keep this bait on the shelves. I have never heard of it so if anyone ever used this bait and had success your input would be greatly apprecitated. Thanks!!

The Chatterbait has started to gain some attention of late. We carry a small line of them in our shop. (Crash's Landing Inc.) It's a good combination of a spinnerbait and a buzzbait. They make alot of noise. However, we don't throw them alot here where i live. (Cave Run Lake, Ky)

I know quite a few people had questioned the build quality of this bait, and even altered it a bit "Just in case". They then came out with a "beefed up" model, but supposedly that degraded the action a great deal. I was using a spinnerbait and my brother was using the Bass sized Chatterbait, and he smoked me on Largemouths.

I had problems with the early version falling apart. The newer ones tend to hold up longer. I still question the durability when landing a muskie. However I have been throwing these on a regular basis since they came out and have yet to catch a muskie or get a follow from it. I know a lot of guy's in the bass fishing ranks who have tried them and had very limited success with them. My opinion is that the bait may actually make to much noise/vibration and spook fish. I think it's a good in theory but, actual use of the bait tells me otherwise. I don't like to bad mouth anybody's baits. These are just my observations to this point. I will still throw them and vary presentations and conditions to see if it is specific condition bait. Pat

I have used chatterbaits alot this year. I have seen lots of fish on it and none were scared by its noise or vibration. I have only boated a 40"er from using this bait, however I feel this is a great search bait. Its the best of all worlds, its like a bucktail with the vibration of a spinnerbait with big blades. I have both generations of this bait. The new one looks like you could boat a great white with it, but the older one, I agree,is a bit wimpy. I was a bit reluctant to fish it stock, out of the box. So I attached a small piece of 100# leader with a snap on one end, and then looped it through the eye on the jig head on the other end. I then connect the snap to my leader. I had no problem with the bait after or during the boating of that 40"er. I feel that this is a great bait. If you guys want Ill post some pics of my mod if my description is a little fuzzy. Hope this helps.
