Location: The desert | No homework this evening so we decided to go out and do some fishing. Took a look at the Suick that I found laying in Pelican....black and yellow jailbird. Hooks are all rusted and worthless. So I look at the other suicks in my box.....which I am not a fan of....cant get them to run right to save my life. So I figure I'll just take the hooks off my firetiger one. Took the hooks off the jailbird no problem, get the firetiger out....i cant get them split rings to open for anything.....after a bit of swearing and outburst I grab the knipex and just chop the split rings. Got the hooks on the jailbird no problem....dont ask me why one worked better...I dont really know....anyways.....so my buddies and I head out to the river.......fished for a while with not even a follow. Sun went down and like usual the baitfish started getting chased. So i strap on the suick, mainly cause I wanted to see if the stupid thing would run right. It did.....and after a few casts toward some spots where baitfish were going nuts BAM!! Fish frickin drilled the thing. A bunch of nice headshakes and she sat right down in the current and stayed there for a bit. After a great fight and some drag ripping we got her in close enough to grab....no net. Caught my personal best...by one inch bettering a 42 and landing the 43"!!! Drought over, first fish this summer, fifth this season!

| Congrats Mike!! You put in enough time and effort into these things and the muskie Gods will reward you. See, you don't need a boat! Good job again, I'm looking forward to getting on some Sept/Oct. stuff and I know you'll be willing to tag along.

Location: Racine, Wi | Good job Mikie!!!! Now if you put in as much time into tuning your suicks as you do studying, you'll have a bunch more of those that run right. Great looking fish. |

Location: WESTERN WI | Glad to hear of the catch on the river, which stretch? Looks as if you were below one of the spillways. That new bait won't replace your Musky Snax, but it may make a little easier to swallow. Hey Nitemare, I said swallow, huhuhuhuh. |
