Well what do you guys think ? Could there be ? Why or why not ? Good sucker base and plenty of cats and bull heads to fatten a beast up. Anybody know of someone who has given a serious try from Shakopee to St Paul Park ?

fishnriggs,
I can't claim to profess any knowledge of the Mighty Mississippi! I do know, however, James Linder, caught a fish about five years ago near Brainard, that evidently was near if not topped the 50lb mark!!!! I can't believe this was the only monster fish in the river!!! Just my two cents!!!

I have heard of some real monsters coming out of there, but I've never fished it and for the drive I have to get up there, I'd rather fish places that I know a little more about. I'd like to try it some day but not real sure what streches are good and which aren't. If you try it lets us know how it was.

Thanks guys, I just may have to try them seeing they are right in my neighborhood. Nothing else is producing much and who knows I could catch a fat cat for the action.
I heard from a friend that a few nice muskies have been caught on the St Croix. He released a 45.
