After not having any action casting I decided to do some night trolling on the Holcombe Flowage Wednesday night. I was trolling a Depthraider along the river channel edge in about 20ft of water when the clicker starts screaming. It is a totally moonless night so I can't see anything, just feel this tremendous weight and what feels like big head shakes and blazing runs. Well, after about 5 minutes or so of this I'm starting to think this is not a muskie at all, possibly one of the big cats in there. Well I finally get the beast up to the boat and to my suprise I snagged a 48" Sturgeon just a above the tail. No wonder it could run like that. Despite not being a muskie it was quite the battle and fun to catch one. I snapped this and let it go from the net, it gave me a nice bath on the release.
