I'm sorry if this topic has been exhausted in the past.....what is a good line brand, lb test and color for gin clear water? Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide.

I'm not sure the type and color is that important, although I use green PowerPro.

Make sure you are using fluorcarbon leaders, OK?? Make them 5-6 feet long, use big guided rods, and use a uni-knot.

Power Pro and flourocarbon for me.

I like to run 65lb line and leader material. My leaders are not that long though. I stick with the traditional lengths of 8 to 10-inches.

80# PowerPro and Flouro leaders for everything exceot glides. Learned fouros from E-Mike above.

For casting I use 50 lb. Cortland Spectron (first ten feet painted blue with permanent magic marker) 80 lb. Seaguar 10" leaders
