| Will the 200 4-stroke work on this boat? I've seen some 620's with the 225, but never a 619/200. I know it doesn't come with a twenty inch shaft. If anyone is running this combo, what are your numbers and how do you like it? Thanks. |

Location: Eden Prairie & Pine Island | I run a 619 with a 200 Evinrude Ficht. Top end is 50-55 mph depending on load out, etc. No complaints. Don't know anything about the Yama's though. |

| I run a 619 w/ 200 Yamaha 2-stroke. Top end is similar to that quoted by Gman.
Absolutely love it. Wish it we're a bit more feul efficient when trolling in big waves and the kicker isn't enough power. |

| Ther Yamaha 4 stroke is a dog out of the hole. Was in a 620 with a 225, and it took like five minutes to plane. Well, ok, maybe it was 30 seconds, but still, a long time. Top speed was 47. You're much better off with a 2 stroke on that boat. |

| I already have a 2-stroke on my boat, and I just don't and won't ever trust it not to blow up. I have had a couple dfi two strokes in the last few years and I am ready to try the four stroke market. I am not concerned about top end speed as much as a motor that I can troll with and not dirty up spark plugs. I can troll with my dfi but I don't think it was really meant for that purpose. 47-48 mph would be just fine |

| Paid $38,000 for mine. 619dvs,'05 200opti, 9.9 pro kicker, x-125 on bow, x-26 on console, minn-kota maxxum pro 80lb. thrust 60 inch shaft. X-26 and maxxum-pro were upgrades after I bought the boat.

| You have a Pro Kicker, and need to troll with the big motor? If you're not getting enough speed from the kicker, perhaps a different prop? The 02 and up Opti's have been proven to be really good motors. If you are must go to a 4 stroke, look at the Verado. You won't like the performance of the other 200 4 strokes on that boat. |

| It's amzing the cost of boats now, period. Be it glass or aluminum, if you want a new big boat it's gonna cost you big money. Even a tracker Tundra at the muskyshow this past winter had a price tag on for over 45k. Lunds are way overpriced too. Best bet is to do some tire kicking and find one that hasn't been beat on that's a year or two old. Even a dealer holdover that hasn't seen water could save you some doe too. Sorry don't mean to change topics, but had to Chime in. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Just the motor for a 2006 200 HP and rigging kit retails for between $14 K and $16K depending on the brand. Add about $750 to rig the motor on a boat. A new 619 with a 200 and kicker will be more than $38K, I'm betting. |

| The 618 is a great boat too. I had that before I got my 619. with a 115 or 125 you would be looking at low-mid twenties, with the max horsepower(150)in an OPTI or HPDI you're looking at 27-30 thousand for boat, motor, trailer. From what I have seen with tuffy, skeeter, warrior, lund they are all about the same. The best deal on the market that I have seen lately has come from tuffy. I really like the 1700 esox deep-v for the price. |

| Shep, I don't recall saying that I couldn't get enough speed with my kicker. I would like to have one motor. I think a 4-stroke is a much better choice if it has to do double duty trolling and running. I say this because I tried using my 150 opti as the only motor on my old 618 and it was all I could do to keep the thing running by the time I was done trolling. It would miss and sputter like it was running on one cylinder(and it probably was). The 200 opti has been great so far but for how long? I am not considering the Verado because I don't need a super charged outboard for fishing. Going fast is not a priority to me. |

| I don't think the Verado would be a good match for this boat at all. The 619 has a 22.5" transom not a 25 and the Verado is like 150-180 pounds more than a DFI 2s. I got my 2005 619 for several thousand less by shopping around. Some dealers get much more reasonable after the next model year comes out. I saw my local dealer at the Musky show asking 44,500 for a 619 w/a 200 E-Tec no electronics, nothing else. I got mine for 34,000 w/ big screen color Lowrance front and rear, extra seat, cover, and the lighting package. Plus he gave me $4,000 more for my trade than Bedford would. I got mine in Northern Mn.
As far as the original post goes I still don't think a large 4-stroke will replace a kicker. Running any big motor @ low rpm has several negative effects other than carbon fouling. Sure, many pros will tell you you can troll all day long but if you are like me your boat ownership experience lasts more than a few months and many of the things they do to thier rigs are very damaging.

| I know you didn't mention speed, but I just figured that was the reason. I think financially you will come out on the back end on this deal. You will pay way more for a new motor than you will get out of your motors. Plus, if you change from Merc to Yammy, you will pay for the controls, and de/rerigging. I suggest you stay with your present set up, but that's just me. I mentioned the Verado because it's an awesome motor out of the hole, and midrange. As I mentioned, the other 4 strokes just don't have any bottom end oomph. Not sure if you can even get one to fit the 619.
How much would you want for your Prokicker? If you did decide to sell? |
