has anyone on the board had any experience with this option from yamaha? I am very interested in it, but don't know how well it works. I have never owned a yamaha before, any comments? thoughts? I will be looking in the 75-140 hp range. I think the variable rpm only applies to 40-90 hp. Does any other outboard manufacturer offer a similar option?

thanks for the help

The Yamaha works well, available on tiller models only. It is set by rpm in 50 rpm incements. Any SmartCraft compatible Mercury motor also has the ability with the addition of not just setting by rpm like the Yamaha, but if setup correctly you can set it by trolling speed.
