I'll be heading up north to Butternut Lake Wisconsin with the family next month. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding locations, pattern, lures/presentations, local waters, or local musky guides?

Wich Butternut Lake are you going to fish ?

Butternut in Forest County: Try calling Guide Todd Powell in Eagle River 715 479 2422.

Butternut in Ashland & Price Counties: Try calling Scott Hammond of Northern Exposure Guide Service in Phillips 715 339 4844.

I fish the latter and it is one of my favorite lakes to use bucktails. I boil the water above the weed beds and in that stained water, well, just bring the heart pills. The whole lake is nice but I prefer the north half. Bring your favorite walleye rod and catch dinner.
