Location: Southern W.Va. | Most of the jerkbaits that I see seem to work in the 2-5 ft range . My question is this, What is the deepest jerkbait that you own and how deep do you work it ? I'm not talking Bulldawgs and Big Joes and the like , I'm talking lumber. Mine is probably a weighted Suick, but I like a 8" Reef Hog that I own more and more for deeper water

Location: Marshfield, WI | I like the 7.5" deep Phantoms and the Grey Ghost Hounders. They both come in around 6-8' deep. Hounders are a drop belly style glider and both have a nice glide to them. Haven't caught a fish on either yet, but I have had some nice follows and lost a couple on Hounders. Majority of the water I fish is also shallow, so I don't use them as much.

Location: Elkhart, IN | I got a deep Phantom just slammed yesterday, unfortunately I lost a big one at the boat, but sure convinced me of their value. I would also consider the Triple D a jerkbait that can be worked in the 8-10' range. |

Location: Freedom, WI | I can get my large H2O Ripper down 8 feet or so and it does a pretty good job in the rocks also. |

Location: Kentucky | I bought a 10" weighted jailbird Suick and put a couple coats of EnviroTex on it and swapped the hooks for 5/0 VMC 4x heavies. It gets down... maybe nickname it James Brown. |

| Roger's H20 Ripper custom weighted gets down that deep easily, and I also have custom weighted Bobbies, Reef Hawgs, and Suicks that will do what you are looking for. I also agree the DDD can walk the dog at about any depth. Soft plastics like Mag Dawgs can also be worked at that depth and provide the tail action fish sometimes need to strike.
Finally, for a glider the Magnum Musky Treat is just what you are looking for along with the Hughes River Shaker MVT |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | you can run a jerk at any depth using Jomusky's custom weight sets, and knowledge imparted in my article in the April/May 2006 issue of MH magazine (page 20) |

Location: Watertown, MN | To me a reef hawg is a glide bait, and me 2 choices would be the deep phamtoms and hughes rivers drop bellys prefer the 2000's tend to run deeper. Other wise weighted suicks and bobbies, or wade wobblers.
Good luck

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Magnum Slow Tease from Hawgseekers tackle... Designed with the weight already in them so you don't have to mess around adding them. I have one that I can hit the bottom in 10 foot of water if I want to.
