Anyone willing to give a little info on Mantrap in MN?
My brother and I might fish it some this long weekend. We only fish the Angle portion of LOTW and will be a new deal for us. Any info would be great!!
Thanks

You will love this lake. Besides LOTW, Mantrap is my favorite lake. Fish Home Bay, there is a huge cabbage bed in there and also fish out in front of the big satellite dish.

Then venture to the big part of the lake and fish the humps you see on the map. There is cabbage by the humps.

I only fished there once. Saw three or four casting the shoreline south of the access, and caught a 36" trolling a baby jointed depthraider.

It's more of a numbers lake than a trophy lake. You have a chance at a 50", no doubt, but there are plenty of 40-45s to keep you busy.

Don't forget to bring something Orange. Tons of great spots. Had some success with the Pacemaker up there.

Thanks for the offer lambeau, we never did make it down there last weekend, just to much family fun to get away. Maybe next year we can get there.
Thanks for the replies on Mantrap.

good advice above...in a couple hours of fishing i raised a big fish (over 45) off the Home Bay cabbage; raised 3 fish and caught a 34 off a main lake hump. all came on orange baits.
i actually met Ball Cap at the landing on this lake a couple years back...

Hey Guys,

I was out on Mantrap last weekend. I but my brother on his first Muskie ever a nice 41 incher on a Pacemaker on saturday morning. I also was out there on Saturday evening and
had a follow on a double Cowgirl. Out of all the muskies lakes I have fished I have fished
Mantrap the most. I personally think red is a better color than orange out there. I have a 42
incher out there already and have seen alot of fish. The fish in that lake do like topwater.

Hey Lambeau,

The weekend of July 24 is a bad weekend but probably the weekend after. We should hook
up and do some fishing.

Hey guys,

I went to Mantrap and the fishing sucked again. I heard that water temps are 78 degrees and
with the temps we had this weekend the lake could easily be over 80. But I did hear that Leech
is starting to pick up.
