Shep, I know we talked about this a little bit, but I'm looking to get a different antenna for my radio. The one that I have now is a 3' stainless whip antenna, but I don't get very good range with it. I don't want to get an 8'er if possible, cause I don't know how I would store that. I would like to stick with a 3'er if possible, or even a 5'er would be okay. Any recomendations? Are the shorter fiberglass antennas the way to go? I found this at BPS, but not sure if it's worth it's beans in better reception.

Thanks guys!

I have a 5400-XT Little Giant VHF. It is a 4 footer. I believe this is the one you would want. I get very good reception even on LOTW with all the islands.

Perfect guys. Thanks!!!! It gets old not being able to hear or talk to people when you're too far away, and I'm only fishing 3000 acre lakes or less. Know anyone that wants to buy a stainless whip antenna. LOL
