Hey. I was up on Sabaskong Bay LOTW last july and we went and explored and found turtle lake. At the end of it is where you can use the rail system to get your boat over into Whitefish Bay. Anyway, has anybody ever done any good in Turtle lake for muskies? I know the water was somewhat shallow in there but there was some awsome looking weeds in there. Would have liked to fish it better but we didnt spend too much time in there. Thanks for any info!

I've always thought this might be an area to fish in the early season.

The few times I fished it (none in recent years) were disappointing. Most of the times I fished it was around Labor Day and week following.
There was one day when several small muskies followed....none active enough for a figure 8.
They were all low to mid 30 inch range.

I wouldn't spend too much time there once the water temperature warms up, as I feel the larger muskies will be closer to deeper water.

Hey,

Ive spent some time up there over the years in June & July, lots of muskies up there, just try to find Cabbage close to deep water, & there should be big fish there.

Good luck
