Hey guys, My Dad, three brothers, a nephew and me are heading to Monument Bay lodge on the Angle the first week of September. Our first trip to LOTW. We're renting boats from the lodge. Full moon is Thursday and well be fishing Sunday to Friday!!! Should be hot. We've been researching a lot (internet and old Musky Hunter's). We usually go to Pigeon Lake in the Kawartha's(since the 1960"s). Mostly fish weeds there. Here's what we've got so far:

1.Fish the Rocks off the main lake channels and complex rock/island formations. Weeds will probably be down and less productive?
2.Throw lots of black/nickel bucktails, topraiders, depthraiders in perch, and some jerkbaits in perch colors.
3.Be ready for big weather changes.
4.Watch the rocks when navigating.

Any other suggestions? What kind of boat traffic can we expect? Any special boarder concerns going in at Young's Bay?

I would be ready to think outside the box! Do you really want to do exactly what everyone else is doing? Bring some DDD's and Mag Dogs and pray for stable weather.

Thanks for the feedback.....We've got the CHS maps and have been studying them bigtime. Every time I look at the map I pick out something new. In fact the more I look at it the more spots I find closer to camp! We really like throwing Grim Reaper spinnerbaits so I'm sure they'll be in the water a bunch. I throw a bulldog but have yet to catch anything on it.....maybe this is the time.

Just watched Muskies on the Shield tonight. Really good quality and action. If Dick would have pulled out a map and showed how that translated to the spots he was fishing it would have made it perfect.

Will we be fishing any weeds or will they be down?

Stick to only rock, in july/aug, LOTW gets the famous alge bloom and the weeds die off,
Stick to big structure, rock reefs saddles and consintrate on complex pieces of rock structure, like multiple islands connected.
Also fish wind blown structure!

Goood luck hope this helps for September fishing
