I am dating my self here, but has anyone seen the Lew's power handles that you can throw on
your 5500Cs? These had the spade shape paddles on the ends.
Thanks

They have pretty much gone the way of the do-do bird; I have them on a couple of my reels I got from the late Larry at Hayes Tackle and tried to get more. There was only one guy with a stash of them--a Lews man threw and threw, apparently. I think he was in IA or IL, but not in MN. He figured out that we "muskie guys" were using the lews and stopped selling them to us (seriously, folks). He also gave me an earfull on how the baits we throw are too big for the 55-6500 and we should all use 7000's or we'll ruin the parts supplies for all the legitimate users of the old 5500s. Why he cared is beyond me--especially since he was in the business of selling reel parts.

You might be able to find something similar from gatorgrips or a company with a similar name--rollie and hellen's used to have them.
